PDO (Polydioxanone) Thread therapy is a technique used to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues, redefine facial contours and induce collagen production. As we age, our skin begins to weaken due to a loss in elastin tissue which results in loose skin around the mouth; jowl, cheek and neck area. PDO thread lifts are designed to help restore your facial structure by lifting and tightning the skin to reduce the visible signs of ageing.
Micro bio-compatible absorbable threads are inserted into the subcutaneous layer of the skin which are adjusted to create an adjustable support framework for the tissue in the treatment area, be it the jowls, mid face or brows. The resultant rejuvenating collagen synthesis creates a lifting effect which can last 2 -3 years and reaches a peak at 6 months when collagen has formed around the threads.
Areas that can be treated by PDo thread therapy are upper and lower cheeks, foreheads (brow lifting), jawline, neck, naso-labial folds and marionette lines, the arms, thighs and abdomen.

What are PDO threads?
FTC therapy originated from the traditional thread-lift philosophy in western medicine as well as “threads-embedding therapy” in oriental acupuncture therapy to control and improve tissue stimulation and muscle contraction. The product used for FTC is a fine needle (21G-30G) affixed to the absorbable thread (thickness of 0.05mm-0.40mm and length of 25mm-140mm).
How is the treatment done?
Local anaesthetic is injected into the treatment area. The PDO thread will then be introduced using a cannula or micro-needle in the required area. The procedure takes around 60 minutes, depending on what treatment you will require. You will be able to fully resume your everyday routine and social commitments within a couple of days.
