IPL Hair Removal
IPL Laser Hair Removal
One of our most popular treatments at The Beresford Clinic is IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light treatment. Hair removal procedures have come a long way in recent years and IPL can give men and women the freedom from unwanted body hair with a simple laser treatment. There are many issues associated with everyday hair removal such as shaving rash, bumpy skin, the pain caused by waxing or epilating and ingrown hairs.
IPL is one of the few hair removal treatments that offer a more permanent approach to getting rid of unwanted body hair for a longer-lasting reduction of unwanted hair.
IPL laser hair removal works by treating the area of unwanted hair growth by delivering a specific range of wavelengths. These wavelengths of light penetrate the surface of the skin and target the melanin within the hair follicle. The hair follicle absorbs the light which causes it to heat up and die without any damage to the surrounding tissue. This process of destroying the hair follicles means that hair growth is significantly reduced.
Our state of the art IPL laser system means we can offer a range of treatments and target any area of the body to remove fine or coarse unwanted hair.
IPL Laser hair removal had proven to effectively treat virtually all types of hair textures effectively and colours from very fine light blonde to course dark hair. IPL is effective in eliminating unwanted hair from all parts of the body including sensitive areas such as lips, underarms and bikini line as well as larger areas such as the back and legs.
How effective is IPL hair removal?
The effectiveness, technology and techniques associated with laser hair removal have improved dramatically over the last few years and our state of the art IPL laser hair removal system perform by our highly skilled and experienced team can guarantee exceptional results for all.
How does IPL laser hair removal work?
IPL works by emitting a wavelength into the skin, which in the case of hair removal targets pigment. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. It quickly turns to heat which then kills the growing cells. IPL sends out scattered wavelengths of light, making IPL very targeted.
How many IPL treatments will I need?
IPL Treatments work on living skin cells – when you pull out a hair and it has that little jelly bulb around it, it’s one of the 20 to 40 per cent of living hair on your body: This is why you need to have several treatments of IPL hair removal treatments to catch all hairs in their living cycle for the best results. The amount of treatments you will require will depend upon the area you would like treated and the results you require. All this will be discussed with you during your consultation.
