Hair reduction procedures have come a long way in recent years and IPL can give men and women the freedom from unwanted body hair with a simple laser treatment. There are many issues associated with everyday hair reduction such as shaving rash, bumpy skin, the pain caused by waxing or epilating and ingrown hairs.
IPL is one of the few hair reduction treatments that offer a more permanent approach to getting rid of unwanted body hair for a longer-lasting reduction of unwanted hair.
IPL laser hair reduction works by treating the area of unwanted hair growth by delivering a specific range of wavelengths. These wavelengths of light penetrate the surface of the skin and target the melanin within the hair follicle. The hair follicle absorbs the light which causes it to heat up and die without any damage to the surrounding tissue. This process of destroying the hair follicles means that hair growth is significantly reduced.

How does IPL laser hair reduction work?
IPL works by emitting a wavelength into the skin, which in the case of hair reduction targets pigment. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. It quickly turns to heat which then kills the growing cells. IPL sends out scattered wavelengths of light, making IPL very targeted.
How many IPL treatments will I need?
IPL Treatments work on living skin cells – when you pull out a hair and it has that little jelly bulb around it, it’s one of the 20 to 40 per cent of living hair on your body: This is why you need to have several treatments of IPL hair reduction treatments to catch all hairs in their living cycle for the best results.
