Micro needling in Newton Abbot

No doubt physical changes that occur as we age can be difficult to accept.

From Botox and facelifts to breast augmentation, there are numerous anti-aging options available to keep us looking younger.

Microneedling is the latest trend in this quest to stay youthful.

It’s a procedure that uses fine needles to puncture the skin and create a controlled skin injury in order to rejuvenate skin.

What Is Micro Needling?

Micro Needling uses the dermaroller as an alternative to surgical procedures. This treatment is aimed to help skin rejuvenation, it targets skin tightening, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation.

How Is Micro Needling Done?

your practitioner will use a medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often the same day. Your practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure more comfortable. It will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the procedure.

Immediate Results

We will normally recommend that your Micro-needling treatment consists of a series of three procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them. In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your therapy, carrying up to five procedures.

Microdermbrasion & Micro Needling, Whats the difference?

A common question that we’re asked is what’s the difference between microdermabrasion and microneedling?

While both treatments work to regenerate and produce newer, healthier skin, there are clear differences between them.

As an overview, microdermabrasion is an exfoliating treatment that uses a hand held vacuum and crystals to relieve dullness and unclog pores as well as smooth away early signs of lines or wrinkles.

Micro Needling

Microneedling is a treatment that uses micro-fine needles to rejuvenate the skin (commonly where there is scarring, marks left from spots and large pores), by kick-starting collagen production which your skin needs to stay firm and regenerate scar tissue.
